1. Overview

InterviewShorts ("InterviewShorts", "we", "us", or "our") is developed by Focus Global Solutions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the InterviewShorts Android app and this website (interviewshorts.com), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the app or this website, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information we collect

Account information. If you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication receives your name, email address, profile photo, and a unique account identifier from Google. We never see or store your Google password.

App usage and progress data. The topics you study, questions you mark "Got it" or "Review again," saved/bookmarked questions, and your last-selected topic are stored on your device (local app storage and a local database) so the app works offline, and — when you're signed in — synced to our backend so your progress follows you across devices.

Device and diagnostic information. The app checks your device's network connectivity status to detect offline mode, and checks your installed app version against the Google Play Store to let you know when an update is available. We do not collect precise location, contacts, or device identifiers beyond what Firebase Authentication requires to keep you signed in.

Website data. This marketing website does not use cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics trackers. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and operational purposes.

We do not currently show advertising in the app or collect data for advertising purposes. If that changes in a future update, we will update this policy and provide notice in the app beforehand.

3. How we use information

  • To create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
  • To sync your study progress, saved questions, and preferences across your devices.
  • To operate core features such as search, topic filtering, levels, and progress tracking.
  • To check for and prompt app updates via Google Play.
  • To respond to support requests and feedback you send us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

4. Third-party services

InterviewShorts relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication and backend infrastructure) — Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Sign-In / Google Play services — Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Play — used to distribute the app and check for updates.

We also use third-party AI tools (such as Anthropic's Claude) to help research, draft, and prepare interview Q&A content. This content preparation does not involve sending your personal account or usage data to these AI tools — they are used only to help create the study material itself.

5. Data storage & security

Account and sync data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, which applies industry-standard security controls. Sensitive data stored on your device, such as authentication tokens, is kept in your operating system's secure, encrypted storage (Android Keystore-backed secure storage). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable safeguards.

6. Data retention

We retain account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the details below and we will act on your request, except where we're required to retain information to comply with legal obligations.

7. Your rights & choices

You can sign out of your account at any time from the app's profile tab, and uninstalling the app removes all data stored locally on your device. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.

If you're in India, you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent and raise grievances with us at the contact below.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, or California, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA, such as the right to data portability or to opt out of certain processing. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

8. Children's privacy

InterviewShorts is intended for job seekers and professionals preparing for technical interviews and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll provide notice in the app or on this website before the change takes effect.
